MENA Aerospace Enterprises WLL announced today that it has concluded a multi-year agreement with Airborne Technologies GmbH of Austria. MENA Aerospace was appointed as the exclusive representative for Airborne Technologies in the Middle East. Airborne Technologies provides proprietary image and data analysis services using fixed wing aircraft. Their solutions provide accurate and high resolution data for a number of applications. Regionally, the companies will be initially focusing on pipeline monitoring, leak detection, airborne surveying and digital mapping. At a later stage, the scope of services will be expanded to include surveillance, patrolling, border control and law enforcement solutions.
By their very nature, pipelines, power lines, railroads and highways are extremely difficult to monitor and access, due to the large geographic area they occupy. Therefore, monitoring and inspecting their corridors from the air is the most efficient, economical, safe and accurate method. The company uses specialized fixed wing aircraft instead of helicopters due to their longer endurance and safer, more silent operation.
Ralph Eisenschmid, MENA Aerospace COO said: "We are pleased and honored to enter into this partnership with Airborne Technologies. This collaborative effort represents a new standard in airborne sensing, imaging and scanning. We have packaged the data acquisition and analysis as a comprehensive service. A client's imaging and analysis requirements can be delivered on a packaged services basis, thereby eliminating the client's need for large investments in equipment, training and infrastructure. Real-time airborne data can be delivered in a multitude of formats and of course, all data and imaging results are securely stored employing the strictest of protocols."
Marcus Gurtner, Airborne Technologies' Chief Sales Officer said: "The fixed wing aircraft platform is the lowest cost, most fuel efficient and most effective platform. The combining of MENA Aerospace and Airborne Technologies represents a unique service offering in the Middle East and Africa. Due to the long endurance and slow-flying capabilities of Airborne Technologies'sensor carriers, we repeatedly outperform every rotary wing (helicopter) application in terms of cost, continuous monitoring and logistic effort."
The service will be provided from MENA's facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain and will be marketed throughout the Middle East and Africa. MENA Aerospace's airline subsidiary MAE Aircraft Management WLL will operate the surveillance aircraft from its base in Bahrain.
