The Finance Director of West Yorkshire private aviation company Multiflight has been shortlisted for the 2009 Yorkshire Finance Director of the Year Awards.

Miles Beecham has been shortlisted for the annual awards, which are sponsored by Sewell Moorhouse, Ernst & Young and Hammonds.

"I am delighted to have been nominated and then shortlisted for the Yorkshire Finance Director of the Year Awards and feel it reflects the success of Multiflight as a leading UK private aviation company and the continued growth of the company over recent years, and the part I have played in this," says Miles.

The awards recognise the key contribution and exceptional performance of the region's top Finance Directors. The awards scheme, now in its eighth year, has established itself as the leading competition of its kind in Yorkshire.

The winners of the awards for Best Finance Director of a PLC, Best Finance Director of a private Ltd company, Best Finance Director of an SME, Young Finance Director of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement Award, will be announced at an exclusive awards dinner at Rudding Park, Harrogate, in September.

Miles was appointed to Multiflight's Board of Directors as Finance Director in January 2008. Miles, who started his career with Birmingham accountancy firm PKF working in audit and then as a corporate tax specialist, had been Multiflight's Financial Controller and Company Secretary since 2002.
