April 4, 2007
International Communications Group (ICG), a recognized leader in the development of communications integration, automation and management systems, today announced a record-breaking year in 2006.
The company posted their largest increase in sales to date – 35 percent over 2005. ICG experienced a double digit increase in market share in the business aviation sector for 2006. For the second year in a row, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has honored ICG as one of the fastest growing businesses in the state through the Chamber's Fantastic 50 recognition program.
"This was an outstanding year for ICG," said Armin Jabs, president of ICG. "The company posted significant growth on all fronts – sales, revenues and market share. We attribute our recent success, in part, to our commitment to provide high quality products and innovative solutions to the aeronautical industry and in our strategy to invest heavily in new product research and development. More importantly, the success would not have been achievable without the hard work and dedication of the ICG employees."
Since 2003, ICG has tripled its employee base, encompassing every department from engineering to administrative support. The company itself has undergone several physical changes during the past year. Construction at ICG headquarters in Newport News, Va. has created new and expanded work areas for engineering, production and customer support, and a repair station facility has been added along with numerous additional offices. The Dallas facility has expanded as well and has doubled in size to accommodate additional personnel.
To meet new and emerging requirements, four new products were released for production in 2006. The ICS-120 and ICS-220 are Iridium satellite systems offering multi-channel global voice and data along with built-in dedicated ACARS data link capabilities. The AeroCom 1100 CTU provides an affordable and highly efficient communications platform tailored to the small to medium cabin class corporate jet. With the optional CEPT-E1 interface, it provides a compact (2 MCU) solution providing connection and management of aircraft communications systems and provides cabin services such as telephone, fax and data services. The DECT cordless is a new ergonomic and cordless phone handset that incorporates active noise reduction to minimize the effects of cabin noise as well as an automatic handset shut-off circuit to preserve battery charge when the aircraft is not under power. In keeping with ICG's commitment to deliver timely solutions that meet industry demands, five new products are in development and planned for release in 2007.
ICG is also embarking upon expansion into other industries with the introduction of new and derivative products. New market sectors include the maritime and land mobile markets as well as planned expansion of aeronautical sales into the air transport; airline and cargo aircraft markets.
