Landmark Aviation earns top Beechcraft sales award for 12th straight year

Landmark Aviation has been named the Beechcraft Domestic Dealer of the Year Award winner for 2006 for retailing more new airplanes than any other authorized dealer in the United States.

It was the 12th straight year that Landmark or one of its predecessor companies has earned the distinction.  Landmark sold 23 new aircraft valued at more than $50 million during 2006, including 16 new piston aircraft and seven new turbo-prop and jet aircraft.

"Landmark Aviation is pleased to again accept this prestigious award and we take great pride in selling new Beechcraft aircraft," said Tom Mekis, Vice President, Aircraft Sales, Charter & Management for Landmark Aviation.  "This Beechcraft award is a tradition for Landmark and our legacy companies."

Piedmont Aviation Services, a legacy Landmark company, was affiliated with Beechcraft for more than 60 years.  Piedmont won the award in 1994 and every year since except 1995 when American Beechcraft won the award.

"Both are among the legacy companies that merged to form Landmark Aviation so we can rightfully claim that the award has gone to a legacy Landmark company for each of the past 12 years," Mekis said.

In presenting the award to Tom Mekis at the Annual Beechcraft Sales Awards Banquet, Randy Groom, President of Global Customer Service and Support, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, said, "The Landmark tradition of outstanding Beechcraft sales is a direct reflection of their commitment and sales professionalism.  We are very proud to once again, present them this prestigious award."
