Top Spanish flight training organisation Aerofan JAA FTO-TRTO is now using an Elite flight simulator to train pilots to fly twin-engine aircraft. They chose Elite due to product performance and reliability, a competitive price and outstanding post-sales service.
The Elite S812 FNPT II has just been certified by the Spanish CAA for use by Aerofan at its international training headquarters at Cuatro Vientos Airport, 15 miles from the Spanish capital, Madrid. It features a 3-channel external visual system, whilst GenView images of both Spain and Portugal are installed as original equipment. The Elite simulator is configured to represent a generic MEP-SPA aircraft.
Aerofan is a fully approved FTO/TRTO offering courses, many of them in English as well as in Spanish, including the PPL(A), CPL(A), modular ATPL(A), integrated ab-initio ATPL, IR (SE & ME), MEP, FI, IRI and CRI.
On the TRTO side of training, Aerofan offers Type Ratings for the Airbus A319/20/21, Boeing B757/767, McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing) MD80 series, conversions from the A320 to A330/A340, and SFI and TRI courses. All the courses are JAA approved. Aerofan operates the Cessna C152, C172, C172RG, C310 and C402, the Beech Bonanza and the Piper Turbo Arrow. Under its JAA AOC Aerofan operates a MD87 (ex Iberia) for wet lease charter and sub-charter flights (both full charter and ACMI).
Aerofan has been a fully approved flying school since 1992, and a fully approved JAA FTO since 2000.
Over the past seven years Aerofan has trained over 500 non-Spanish students alone. The organisation specialises mainly in modular training, and the new Elite simulator will offer additional training options to students. All instructors are JAA licensed, and all the licenses and/or ratings obtained by students are also JAA.
