Following in the footsteps of Aéroports de Lyon, laureate of the Best Airport Award 2008 for its excellent commercial policy and service quality, Lyon-Bron Business Aviation Airport will be presented with the European Business Aviation Award 2009, on 12 May 2009, for its contribution to expanding business aviation in Europe.
Lyon-Bron Airport is present on stand 1305 of this year's 3-day EBACE Exhibition, the business aviation trade fair, taking place in Geneva on 12, 13 and 14 May.
The EBAA - European Business Aviation Association – will honour the Lyon business aviation airport during this event by presenting it with the European Business Aviation Award 2009.
This prize distinguishes the person or the team who has contributed significantly to expanding business aviation in Europe over the past year.
This honour was attained notably through:
·The perennial approach to promoting business aviation encompassing constant presentation meetings with entrepreneurs, invitations to Rhône-Alpes regional companies to participate in discovery days, organized in partnership with airlines established on the platform, participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions such as Jetexpo in Moscow, etc.
·The quality and enhancement of services, including the establishment of a highly-efficient "FBO" (Fixed Base Operator) assistance service, created through the new "Executive Handling" label, present at both Lyon-Bron and Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airports, the officialization of all procedures in order to obtain the ISO 9001 by the end of 2009, and, also, all material work carried out or planned: total refurbishment of the runway in 2008, a new restaurant, a 3,000m? hangar for business planes, a hangar for helicopters, etc.
·Exchanges with local residents (environmental component). Regular meetings, aiming to explain more concretely how air transport operates and aiming to explore all possibilities for reducing noise pollution, were held as a means for exchanging and discussing with residents living within the vicinity of the platform.
·Increased safety. Between now and summer 2009, Lyon-Bron will be upgraded to fire protection category 5.
·Long-term vision. The drawing-up of a clear-cut strategy for planning the long-term development of the airport whilst safeguarding business aviation interests.
"This prize is the reward for the great work and enthusiasm of a whole team" stated Eric Dumas, director of Lyon-Bron.
