DC Aviation with new dual leadership: COO Steffen Fries appointed CEO, Michael Kuhn boosts management as CFO

With effect from 6 April 2009, present COO Steffen Fries is CEO and lead operating manager of Germany's largest operator of private jets. In addition, Michael Kuhn has been boosting the company's management in the role of CFO since 15 April. Kuhn was most recently responsible for FULDA Reifen GmbH as managing director. Dr Lutz Helmig, owner of DC Aviation: "In Steffen Fries and Michael Kuhn, I am very glad to see two highly entrepreneurial managers in top company positions. We will continue to consistently take advantage of market opportunities and further consolidate DC Aviation as one of the leading operators of business jets in Europe." Since 2004, DaimlerChrysler Aviation, and later DC Aviation, have been managed by former Lufthansa employee Dieter Heinen as part of an agency contract. On amicable termination of the contract on 30 June, Heinen will return to Lufthansa. "Dieter Heinen's commitment has made us the number 1 amongst business jet operators in Germany today. Our company represents the highest quality, safety, and service. This has created a rock solid basis which now allows us to stand on our own two feet and continue along our chosen path", adds Helmig. Dieter Heinen will continue to assist the company in an advisory capacity until the end of June.

Steffen Fries brings with him over 14 years of experience in the aviation industry. Prior to acting as COO at DC Aviation, he was responsible for the development of the German market at the European business jet operator NetJets Europe for five years as Senior Vice President. He previously worked as Key Account Manager at debis Systemhaus/T-Systems for client Airbus Industries (Toulouse, Hamburg) from 1998 to 2002. For Deutsche Lufthansa AG, the industrial engineer graduate worked as an in-house consultant in corporate strategy and as assistant to the marketing group executive board. Michael Kuhn has also been involved in the subject of mobility for almost 20 years. In the last three years, he was responsible for operations at FULDA Reifen GmbH, following a role as managing director at tyre distributors MultiMarkenManagement GmbH from 2005 to 2006. Prior to this, the university-educated business economist worked in a range of executive positions in sales and marketing in the tyre industry.
