Press Release
Issued by London Luton Airport Operations Ltd.
April 7, 2009
This prestigious award was voted for by subscribers of Business Destinations magazine that include business travel bookers and business travelers. The award recognises the convenience of traveling from London Luton as well as the many new services and improvements that have been introduced with the business traveler in mind. The Airport was judged against criteria such as quality of service, value for money, range of products and services, environmental considerations and customer experience testimonials.
The award reflects the improvements that have been made at London Luton over the last year. The airport has made significant investment to improve access and is now more convenient and faster to get to with an upgraded public transport interchange, new and enlarged drop off zone and improved short term car park. Road and rail access are now better than ever with the completion of the M1 motorway widening, dual carriageway link to the airport and excellent rail services to central London taking as little as 20 minutes.
All on site car parks are just a short distance from the terminal and the new 'Priority Parking' service offers parking adjacent to the terminal building. Once in the airport, 'Priority Lane' offers the fastest route to security and is available to purchase online or at the airport for just £3.00. This innovative service allows passengers to go directly to the security search point and is ideal for passengers on a tight schedule or those simply looking for the ultimate in convenience.
New initiatives such as 'Priority Parking' and 'Priority Lane' drive down the already fast times from Check-in to gate, add in priority boarding available with a number of London Luton airlines and the speed from check-in to plane for the business traveler is faster still.
Glyn Jones, London Luton Airport Managing Director, commented "Over the past year we have achieved growth in passenger numbers through the expansion of our route network and increases in the frequency of flights; passengers choose to fly from London Luton because of our excellent transport links and service levels. This award demonstrates just how attractive this airport is to airlines and travelers alike."
London Luton continues to attract new airline partners and announced this week a new service with Israel's flag carrier, EL AL to Tel Aviv with onward connections to Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Beijing and Bangkok.
