Student pilots using a new Elite Simulation Solutions simulator at FH Joanneum, a leading Austrian university, will be able to keep cool, thanks to a special ventilation system.
FH Joanneum University is based at Graz, in the south-east of Austria, and has other centres at Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg. The university specialises in applied sciences, one division being flight training, for which it offers a full-time diploma course.
The Elite Evolution S923 FNPT II MCC (Multi Crew Co-operation) simulator for the university is configured to represent both the Beech KingAir B200 twin turbine aircraft and the twin piston-engined Piper Seneca III.
The adjustable frontpanel air ventilation system in the fully enclosed dual pilot cockpit area is similar to those found in commercial airliners. The Elite S923 has a three-channel visual system and a GNS430 GPS fitted as original equipment and, as it was developed to meet JAR requirements for dual pilot MCC training, it has dual dynamic control loading for both the yoke and pedals.
