AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company is pleased to announce that Samsung Techwin Co. of South Korea has placed an order for two AW139 medium twin engine helicopters. The two aircraft will be used to perform corporate and VIP transport, replacing ageing helicopters in the same category. The first helicopter will be delivered this year and the second one in 2010. This important contract adds another leading operator to the list of customers who have chosen or are already operating the AW139 for corporate/VIP transport purposes. Furthermore, this order is the first one in the commercial market in South Korea and further expands the rapidly growing success of the best selling medium twin in the country, following orders in the government market placed by the Korean Coast Guard and the Gangwon Fire Fighting Department in 2008.
