Press Release
Issued by Asian Business Aviation Association.
November 2, 2017
As the largest and most professional industry event in Macau, the sixth Macau Business Aviation Exhibition will take place from 3 to 5 November, 2017 at Macau International Airport.
The Macau government has been actively pursuing the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, under the guidance of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative launched by the central government, against the backdrop of a rapidly expanding Chinese economy. The business aviation market in China offers strategic opportunities for Macau, which has been a regional platform for Southeast Asia and the world through close trade and economic relations with Portuguese-speaking countries and the European Union.
The sixth edition of the Exhibition will cover over 22,000 square meters, with 12 business aircraft confirmed to make an appearance, including the Cessna Citation Latitude from Textron Aviation, the G650, G450, G220 and G200 models from Gulfstream and other exhibitors, the Dassault Falcon Jet 7X and 8X, the Embraer Lineage 1000 and Legacy 650 and the Bombardier CRJ200 and CL850.
These aircraft include medium range models designed for regional markets, as well as long range models which are ideal for intercontinental markets, reflecting the diverse trends and needs for business aviation in the greater China market. These advanced aircraft provide an efficient solution to business executives with a demanding schedule, who are often actively involved in business negotiations across different regions. Business aviation manufacturers and operators from around the world are closely following developments in the burgeoning market in greater China and are determined to offer tailored solutions for individuals with specific needs.
Earlier in 2017, China's Civil Aviation Administration launched a plan on “Generation Aviation Development during the 13th Five-Year-Plan”, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is one of the key national areas identified in the plan. Business aviation will support this area to become a world-class city cluster.
At the invitation of the Macau Business Aviation Exhibition organizing committee, AsBAA will be collaborating with Nam Kwong Group and China Aviation Supplies Holding Company to launch a “General and Business Aviation Executive Forum” during the sixth Exhibition. The Forum theme will focus on “General and Business Aviation Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area” against the backdrop of “One Belt, One Sky”, echoing the “One Belt and One Road” initiative. Specific topics include infrastructure investment and development, aviation lease financing, government policies and the regulatory environment, customer service and talent development.
As a non-for-profit organization, AsBAA counts about 150 member companies from greater China and Southeast Asia, covering business aviation operators, aircraft manufacturers, service providers and customers. The association provides a platform for open dialogue and best practice sharing amongst member companies through its three core pillars of advocacy, representation and community. The co-hosting of this Forum with two important partners demonstrates AsBAA's continuous efforts towards building a vibrant business aviation community.
