Air Medical Limited (AirMed), an air ambulance operator is going from strength to strength as it expands with an additional aircraft, increasing its fleet to eight, thanks to £678k funding from Lombard, the asset finance provider.
Established in 1985, AirMed is led by Managing Director Rupert Dent. The Oxford Airport-based business is the UK's leading air ambulance operator with a range of fully equipped aircraft operating across Europe. Moving forward the business, which also specialises in aircraft maintenance, is seeking to expand its EASA 145 maintenance capability further into third party maintenance services for other aircraft fleets. The company recently became an Authorised Service Facility for Cessna aircraft.
AirMed is a long-term customer of NatWest which, like Lombard, is also part of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS), and Relationship Manager Justin Hayward has worked with the business as it has continued to grow. Justin worked alongside his colleague Nigel Tyson from Lombard and Rupert at AirMed to gain a full understanding of his business plans, which included changing and modernising the fleet of aircraft. Lombard then provided a bespoke finance solution facilitating the purchase of an additional aircraft, which offers increased capacity, speed and range - enhancing the way the business operates.
Rupert Dent, Managing Director at Air Medical Limited commented: "I am delighted with our fourth Cheyenne turboprop aircraft. Not only has it increased the overall size of our fleet, improving availability for our clients, but it will also enable us to improve the ways in which our business operates and the level of service we are able to offer to our customers.
"I am grateful to the RBS Group for their continued support and I look forward to continuing working with the team as we take the business to the next level."
Justin Hayward, Relationship Manager at NatWest added: "I wish the AirMed team every success as their business continues to grow. The new addition to the fleet not only looks superb but will serve to enhance the overall strength of their business offering."
Nigel Tyson, Relationship Manager from Lombard said: "Having worked closely with the AirMed team to establish how they wanted the business to evolve, Lombard was able to tailor a bespoke finance package allowing them to purchase the aircraft using asset based financing."
