Jet Aviation recently restructured its aircraft management and charter operation in Hong Kong and appointed Barry Collier and Iris Riesen as new managing directors.
The growing customer base in the Asia Pacific Rim recently led Jet Aviation to restructure the company's aircraft management and charter operation in Hong Kong. With the appointment of Barry Collier and Iris Riesen as new managing directors, the company further strengthens its services to better accommodate the regional business aviation community and its needs.
Captain Barry Collier joined Jet Aviation in Hong Kong in 2006 as director flight operations and will now, as managing director, be responsible for flight operations and crew. Iris Riesen, newly appointed managing director, who has worked for Jet Aviation in the past, will rejoin the company in Hong Kong effective March 16, 2009, and will be in charge of ground operations, sales, client relationships and administration. Both will report directly to Jürg Reuthinger, Jet Aviation's senior vice president and general manager aircraft management for EMEA & Asia, and Peter Brändle, director key accounts and deputy general manager aircraft management for EMEA & Asia, who are based at the company's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
"We are very pleased with the new structure which will help us to meet the future demands of our clients. In the past few years Barry Collier has been one of the cornerstones of our organization further expanding Jet Aviation's aircraft management and charter operation in this region. He will continue to do so as managing director," said Reuthinger. He added, "I am also very happy that Iris Riesen has accepted the position of managing director and is now back at Jet Aviation since she is a highly experienced professional with tremendous knowledge of the Asian market."
Captain Barry Collier is an industry veteran with 20 years experience and a former Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) UK flight operations inspector. Collier was chief pilot and director operations with CR Airways in Hong Kong before joining Jet Aviation Hong Kong three years ago. He has played a key role in developing relationships with government and local officials.
Iris Riesen rejoins Jet Aviation from BAA Jet Management Ltd., an aviation firm based in Hong Kong. Riesen had worked for Jet Aviation in 1995 for more than ten years and held various managerial positions in the company's aircraft management and charter division in Europe and Asia. She speaks five languages including conversational Chinese (Mandarin).
Jet Aviation's aircraft management and charter division for Asia in Hong Kong was established in 2002. The charter department maintains a 24/7 operation and holds its own Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC). In addition, Jet Aviation Hong Kong Ltd holds its own HKAR 145 and performs line maintenance for Hong Kong and Cayman-registered aircraft and AOG support. The company also services aircraft registered in 12 other countries through Jet Aviation's Base Maintenance Center in Singapore, which holds approvals including FAA #J8MY465N, EASA 145 #CH.145.0232, Aruba DCA, Australian CASA, Bermuda DCA, Cayman CAA, Indonesia DGAC, Macao MAR-145, Malaysia DCA, Philippines ATO, Singapore CAAS and Thailand DOA.
