Signum Aviation awarded "Young Talent/Start Up" at Sapphire Pegasus Business Awards in Prague

An eight-person Manchester aviation company walked away with the Young Talent/Start Up award on April 28th at the Sapphire Business Awards in Prague. Signum Aviation, which supports business aviation operators all over the world, was presented the award for showing consistent double-digit growth since its founding in 2007 and by significantly widening its client base over the past few years.

As recently estimated by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), the value of business aviation handling among Europe economy is around 200,000,000 euros in output, offering a large market share to flight support specialists. Over the past two decades, the market has also seen the entry of Middle Eastern operators showcasing huge platforms with complex workflows, extensive credit lines or global fueling capabilities. The reason for Signum Aviation's success is neither technological nor digital. Arranging handling and ground services for private jet owners is about trust.

"The main thing that sets us apart is our amazing team of ops professionals. This is the key to our success and with 100% staff retention since our founding, clients know that when they contact Signum Aviation they will get someone on the end of the phone or e-mail who knows their operation and specific requirements.” says Jonathan Gill, Signum Aviation's MD and founder. “This personal and responsive service, coupled with our truly worldwide experience, is why the main source of new client acquisition has been word-of-mouth referrals" he adds. Signum Aviation consistently invests in staff training and development and has out-achieved the new ISO9001-2015 standard, one of the first aviation companies in Europe to do so.

Signum Aviation's 31-year-old founder is deeply proud of this achievement and is grateful to its amazing team, without whom “none of this would have been possible. Their dedication, passion and hard work make this company as incredible as it is", says Gill, as well as “fantastic customers who endlessly support Signum Aviation and allow this company to do what we love doing. We all thank you,” for the valued operations Signum Aviation's clients entrust to them every day and their loyalty over the years.

Signum Aviation's Founder, Jonathan Gill, has worked in aviation since taking a weekend job at an FBO at the age of 14. He started Signum Aviation in November 2007 with a single client operating a Hawker 850XP, Citation CJ2 and two helicopters. The Manchester-based company now handles an average of 150 flights a week, 24/7, with aircraft ranging from PC12s to B777s.
