UTair Helicopter Services has entered into a contract for the aviation support of humanitarian missions in the Republic of Colombia, thus expanding its presence in Latin America.
The contract provides for the use of two Mi-8MTV helicopters for passengers and cargo transportation, casevac and medevac operations. The aircraft are based in Bogota and Medellin. UTair Engineering will set up a line maintenance station in Bogota for routine and line maintenance of these aircraft.
UTair Helicopter Services possesses vast experience in providing aviation support services to humanitarian missions worldwide. At present 45 helicopters from the UTair Group perform air operations in Mali, Central African Republic, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Liberia. The operations involve more than 400 employees, including flight crews, maintenance personnel, site managers and interpreters.
