Korea opens its first FBO facility

June 16, 2016 marks as the grand opening of the Seoul-Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC), South Korea's first FBO facility at Gimpo International Airport, which KAC, a public corporation, and Avjet Asia are operating.

Since the establishment of Avjet Asia in 2008, it has strived to introduce and implement business aviation in Korea. With the attractive geological location of Korea and the increase of air traffic in and out as well as business-purpose flights, the recognition and needs of FBO has risen, leading to the grand opening of SGBAC.

The new facility is massive and pristine, a two-story VIP terminal that offers comprehensive amenities such as private VIP rooms and an open lounge with an amazing view. Provided also are dedicated rooms for crews including a snoozing room, conference room, and shower rooms. Refreshments, coffee machinery, comfortable furniture, newspapers/magazines are also served by our highly trained staff. Adjacent to the terminal is the 10,260㎡ hangar that can accommodate up to six G550s, with a back shop.

“Avjet Asia has a great potential, for it has its own facilities including the hangar and maintenance equipment, being able to provide one-stop FBO services and hangar parking at Gimpo. Flight Support services including landing and overflight flights, cargo and tech stops, and aircraft ground handling services are available at any airport in South Korea.” said Marc Foulkrod, chairman and CEO of Avjet Global Sales. “The people of Avjet Asia are ready for business, and we expect high demand especially for Avjet Asia's ground handling services.”

“Avjet Asia is the first and only FBO in Korea. We have our own dedicated GSEs, which include a fuel tank truck and a towbarless towing tractor at SGBAC. We are the only ones that operate a hangar, which is available for overtime as well as long-term parking. With our highly trained staff, we offer a diverse range of aircraft supporting services. We are eager to develop our business and want to become a bigger provider of business aviation in this region and worldwide. The opening of FBO is a great step towards that direction.” Said Mr. Wook Sang Cho, president and CEO of Avjet Asia.
