Boeing B-777

Press Release

Jet Aviation's maintenance centre performs first maintenance on BBJ-777

Jet Aviation's MRO facility in Basel recently signed its first agreement to perform maintenance on a Boeing Business Jet 777-200 for an undisclosed client in the Middle East. The wide-body aircraft is to be redelivered to the client on December 25, 2016.

Despite the short turnaround time, the Basel maintenance centre welcomes the opportunity to do maintenance on a B777-200 aircraft and thereby validate its capabilities for the full range of Boeing VVIP aircraft.

“There was just one week between receiving the request and the aircraft's arrival, and the entire team is fully prepared and very excited about the project,” says Estelle Thorin, Jet Aviation's director of maintenance for large aircraft in Basel. “This is a significant milestone for the large aircraft maintenance team, and we look forward to demonstrating our high quality maintenance services to this new customer, and all owners and operators of BBJ-777 aircraft.”

Senior vice president and general manager of the Basel facility, Johannes Turzer, said, “As a factory approved service centre for Boeing Business Jets, customers value our commitment to the highest business aviation standards. We are delighted to welcome this customer back and look forward to supporting more B777 maintenance and refurbishment inputs in 2017.”
