Pazos celebrates new FBO launch at NBAA

Jose Maldonado, president of Pazos FBO Services, Puerto Rico's leading ground handling and fuel services provider, recently announced the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art FBO installations at NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida. Slated to be operational in December, the new Pazos FBO facilities were developed with an investment of more than six million US dollars.

Located at the strategic Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (LMM) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Pazos' new building features a cutting edge design. With 12,500 square foot of office space, new installations will more than double Pazos' existing operation, including a sizeable extension of hangar facilities and aircraft parking ramp to prepare for projected traffic growth. Ramp space will increase to 250,000 square feet when expansion is completed.

Chief among the main attractions of the Pazos expansion, is the opening of a full service U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) terminal within the new FBO building. “This will provide customs and immigration clearance to all general, corporate, charter passengers and transient aircraft at the San Juan airport. Also, it will make processing upon arrival at Pazos, a hassle-free exercise as travelers continue on to their final destination,” noted Maldonado.

As the premier 24-hour ground handling and fuel service operator at LMM, Pazos' expanded operations will greatly enhance the airport's general aviation operations, which services more than 135,000 operations and manages over nine million passengers annually.

Steve Drzymalla, World Fuel Services' vice president, business aviation bulk fuel, commented earlier about the expansion, noting: “Pazos joined the Air Elite Network as one of the first Caribbean locations and has been one of the network's clear leaders in growth and development in the region. These new enhancements will no doubt enhance the Air Elite diamond service experience for customers when traveling within the network.”

“With World Fuel Services as our fuel supplier, we have had a strategic partner through their strong fuel supply, industry relationships and marketing experience,” Maldonado continued. “World Fuel Services provides us much more than reliable fuel supply, but also valued relationships, we look forward to many years of collaborating with them to create innovative service and operational solutions for our flight operators and aircraft owners.”

As the new facilities, redefine the San Juan skyline with a new sense of elegance, the Pazos experience will also evolve to include premier destination management and concierge services for crew members and travel clients. Building amenities include luxury pilot lounge with snooze room; flight planning workstations, corporate meeting facilities, gourmet catering services and customized destination signature experiences to make each visit to Pazos Puerto Rico a memorable one.

As part of their Air Elite Network membership, Pazos participates in The Ritz-Carlton customized customer service training. The FBO will continue to deliver diamond service with the Air Elite Network Concierge program and awards elevated FlyBuys Rewards to customers who participate in the loyalty program. Customers earn points with AVCARD purchases or trip support and contract fuel purchases through World Fuel | Colt. Part of the many exciting developments at Pazos is a redefined corporate identity, featuring a bold new logo, contemporary lines and bright colors that capture and project the warmth, dedication and aviation expertise of Pazos' team of professionals.

“Indeed, these are exciting times. Thanks only to the hard work, loyalty and dedication of every member of the Pazos family, without whom, this expansion would not be possible. With them, the sky's the limit,” concluded Maldonado, noting that once the new building is fully operational, staff will increase by approximately by 30%.
