Press Release
Issued by Vertical Flight Expo and Conference.
October 4, 2016
More than 100 operators from companies such as Babcock International, Bristow, Heli Holland and CHC are confirmed to attend this year's Helitech International in Amsterdam. Highlighting the growing confidence and innovation opportunities within the rotorcraft market, delivering value for operators is a central focus for the show this year.
A new Operators Forum and Insight Seminars led by industry professionals will address the most influential trends in the rotorcraft sector and aim to provide support to operators in an ever changing landscape of safety and regulatory challenges.
The show's Insight Seminars will cover a wide range of operations, from search and rescue (SAR) missions, helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) to identifying business opportunities in the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) sector.
A new initiative for 2016 is the free to attend Operators Forum, where operators from across the globe can network with like-minded individuals and discuss the evolving rotorcraft industry and ways of improving missions. Held over a working lunch on Tuesday 11 October from 12:30, the event gives operators from all sectors the chance to talk informatively with their peers about the issues most relevant to their businesses.
In the lead up to the show, operators were given the chance to vote on topics they felt were most relevant to the industry. The key issues for this discussion agenda have been decided and the Forum will cover a range of issues from how to make operations more profitable and the best software solutions to help document operations/work processes, through to how operators can collaborate better for the safety of the industry and electronic flight bag implementation; what do operators fly with?
René van der Haring, chief executive officer of Heli Holland Group will deliver the opening comments. Since 1980, Heli Holland has expanded its operations in providing passenger and freight transport, aerial imaging, off-shore services and maintenance. René will discuss the recent developments in the oil and gas sector and what the future will likely hold following the recent downturn in oil prices.
Insight Seminars are taking place throughout the course of the show. These seminars provide the ideal platform for operators to share their experiences and valuable insight into the HEMS, SAR and UAV operations.
Stefan Becker, president of the European HEMS & Air Ambulance Committee (EHAC) will conduct a session on the morning of Tuesday 11 October, to discuss how improvements in medicine, technology and rotorcraft innovations, like new flight procedures, can lead to greater operational efficiency and the delivery of emergency medicine.
Becker commented: “Helicopter air ambulance services are a vital part of the health care system, and ensuring the highest level of pre-hospital care is always a priority for HEMS. It is important to the industry to come together to share knowledge on new processes and technology that ultimately contribute to saving more lives and operating safer. I am looking forward to this exchange with experts from all over Europe and other parts of the world.”
AAR Airlift Group will also be speaking in the Insight Seminars to discuss partnering with the British International Helicopters and Air Rescue Systems to help conduct SAR missions for the UK Ministry of Defence. Speakers including: Ian Bonthrone, SAR director, Air Rescue Systems, John Butler, business development, AAR Airlift Group and Paul Southall, managing director, British International Helicopters will explain in-depth how these unique operations were undertaken.
This year, there is an exclusive service for approved operators of Helitech International 2016 who wish to arrive at the show directly by helicopter. For the first time at the show, landing slots will be available at the RAI Amsterdam between 10:00 and 16:00 from 11-13 October.
