During its meeting in Brussels on 8 September 2016, the EBAA board of governors named Juergen Wiese of BMW AG, Germany, as chairman of the association. The members of the board thanked outgoing chairman Rodolfo Baviera for his steadfast leadership during four consecutive terms as chairman. Baviera will continue to serve his mandate as a member of the board.

"It has been a privilege to work alongside my friend and outgoing chairman Rodolfo and the board, secretariat and I share a deep appreciation for Rodolfo's contributions to the EBAA over many years,” says Wiese. "These are exciting if challenging times for business aviation,” continues Wiese, "and I am looking forward to my new responsibilities, protecting the interests of our members and stakeholders and helping develop this key part of the aviation infrastructure for the benefit of Europe as a whole.” The new chairman will serve a three year renewable term.
