Press Release
Issued by SkyQuest International.
August 30, 2016
SkyQuest International, LLC doing business as SkyQuest Kodiak Sales US, LLC is pleased to announce the sale and delivery of a new Quest Kodiak 100 aircraft (Serial Number:100-0147, Registration: N47KQ) to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks in Botswana, Africa.
The Botswana Department of Wildlife and National Parks will operate the Kodiak for various logistical missions and departmental duties as well as for anti-poaching and law enforcement. More than a third of the African elephant population is located in Botswana, which also maintains a growing rhino sanctuary. With a recent ban on hunting, the country is well known for its position on anti-poaching and sees the Kodiak aircraft as an integral part of enforcing that ban moving forward.
The Kodiak was designed and built as a rugged and reliable multi-mission aircraft with superior STOL performance. The heavy duty undercarriage and discontinuous leading edge, Tundra tires and 19” propeller clearance allows the Kodiak to take off and land in locations that most aircraft would never venture. The Kodiak features Garmin 1000 avionics suite along with the GFC-700 autopilot.
