Press Release
Issued by Elite Simulation Solutions.
November 24, 2008
High resolution images of Swiss scenery are built into a new Elite flight simulator now in use at the Fliegerschule St Gallen-Altenrhein, which operates at Altenrhein Airport, one of the highest in Switzerland and close to the Austrian border.
Elite Simulation Solutions, the Swiss manufacturer of the world's most advanced PC-based systems, has supplied the flying school with an Elite Evolution S812 FNPT II system, with a three-channel visual system and a built in GNS430 GPS unit.
The S812 is configured to represent the twin-piston Piper Seneca III but is easily and quickly convertible to the single-engine Piper Arrow IV – and in both cases the trainee pilot can see the high resolution RealView Switzerland images as if the aircraft is flying over the real thing.
Apart from the performance and quality of the S812, the flying school also wanted quick delivery – and Elite was able to meet this demand.
The flying school which was founded in 1946 has a wide variety of aircraft ranging from World War II Piper L-4 (one of the military versions of the Piper Cub), a Socata Trinidad TB20GT, a Robin DR40, Cessna C152, Cessna C172, an Italian-designed Tecnam P2002 as well as a recently delivered Diamond DA-42 with glass cockpit configuration.
