RUAG completes 96 month check on Russian registered Challenger 850

RUAG Aviation has completed a 96 month check on a Russian registered Bombardier Challenger 850 fully on schedule and to complete customer satisfaction. The customer experienced maximum transparency and RUAG Aviation's one-stop shop expertise which were both key contributors to the overall success of the project. The MRO service provider also cites the recently achieved, unlimited approvals from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency for Russian registered civil aircraft certification.

The operator of the Russian registered Bombardier Challenger 850 took delivery of the aircraft on schedule from RUAG Aviation at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The heavy maintenance check was completed between 1 February and 11 April 2016. “This 96 month check was an achievement for us on several levels,” states André Ebach, general manager business jets at Oberpfaffenhofen. “The customer, a Russian operator, required strict adherence to the delivery date and full on-site representation throughout the entire project. We welcomed this complete transparency and used it to create a very satisfying dialogue with our customer. This aircraft also represents our first official act in using our unlimited certification rights for Russian registered civil aircraft,” continues André Ebach.

The Bombardier authorised service centre at Oberpfaffenhofen successfully achieved the timely completion on the 96 month MRO project despite certain issues which could have posed a significant impact on the ultimate availability of the aircraft. These included irregularities on structural elements, unique and complex cabin interior features, and out-of-production cabin interior replacement parts.

“Our dedicated aircraft project team was able to constructively resolve all these challenges. At RUAG Aviation, we provide one-stop shop solutions which allowed the team to successfully manage the full scope of the MRO and all extenuating issues, within the scheduling constraints. To ensure timely delivery we also implemented double shifts,” asserts André Ebach.

RUAG Aviation recently received full approvals for the certification of Russian registered civil aircraft, commissioned indefinitely by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia). The announcement was issued by RUAG Aviation on 20 May 2016.
