Swissport wins licence for four FBOs in Morocco

Swissport Executive Aviation, a business line of Swissport International Ltd., has been named as the winner of the FBO tender by ONDA, Morocco's national airport authority, and will launch the first FBO product at Moroccan airports. Swissport Executive Aviation will operate facilities in Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier. Jetex was also awarded an FBO tender by ONDA and will be the only other provider of FBO services in Morocco.

Swissport's executive aviation handling has been implemented at nine Moroccan airports since 2013. Dedicated teams ensure full service delivery to the business aviation community and rely on the international experience of the group. With more than 80 bases and FBOs globally, Swissport Executive Aviation has become a significant player in the industry.

“Business aviation in Morocco has strong growth potential. We are excited and proud to support Morocco's airports in developing state of the art FBOs that will put the country in a regional and African leadership role”, says Mark Skinner, senior vice president ground handling Middle East and Africa.

In the first phase of the implementation, the current ONDA lounges will be managed by Swissport Executive Aviation. In the second phase state of the art FBO buildings will be constructed and made fully operational within two years.

“For our executive aviation business line, the awarded licenses strengthen our position in the market and they will enable us to further increase our service delivery and quality for our customers”, declares Rebecca Durrer-Bolle, vice president Swissport Executive Aviation.

Swissport Executive Aviation is exhibiting at the EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition) held at Geneva's Palexpo 24 to 26 May 2016 (booth no D023).
