VIH Aerospace offers aggressive new pricing and performance options for MCP01 master caution panel

VIH Aerospace, a leading provider of global helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services has announced new, reduced pricing and a newly developed options package for its Bell 212 MCP01 master caution panel, a plug-in replacement for the legacy original equipment manufacturer (OEM) panel. VIHA is exhibiting at Heli-Expo 2016 from booth #1209.
The MCP-001, which currently holds Transport Canada and Federal Aviation Administration approval, with European Aviation Safety Agency approval anticipated by end of Q1/2016, was introduced to Bell 212 helicopter operators at Heli-Expo 2015 and has since been gaining interest and acceptance from operators as they incorporate newer technologies into the Bell 212 that increase safety and reliability while reducing downtime due to unit failure and insufficient availability of replacement parts.

Arne Arneson, general manager of VIH Aerospace explains that over the past year, VIH Aerospace and its partner in the MCP01 program, Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corporation (AEM) have successfully developed production economies and variants of the product that better address various budgetary and operator requirements, and deliver premium value for price in comparison to the highly unreliable legacy units currently available.

Based on this, VIH Aerospace now offers the following product configurations (with no core return requirement) to operators at prices considerably lower than 2015 introductory pricing: - MCP01-000: with state recorder - MCP01-000N: with state recorder and NVG - MCP01-100: without state recorder - MCP01-100N: without state recorder and with NVG. The development of the VIH Aerospace MCP01 master caution panel was undertaken to produce a new panel that would make the helicopter more reliable, maintainable and reduce direct operator costs. VIHA’s panel offers significant improvements that include an estimated 30,000 hour Mean Time Before Failure; ‘plug-and-play design - utilizes existing wiring and connectors; is 50% lighter; draws 75% less current - runs cooler; and is engineered to operate with/without a ‘state recorder’ to digitally monitor and record multiple annunciator status in real time (2000+ events) for output and use in Helicopter Flight Data Management (HFDM) systems.

The result of these improvements includes improved reliability and safety, and mitigated potential lost revenue associated by high rates of failure experienced with the legacy OEM master caution panel. VIHA offers a comprehensive suite of services including: component overhaul, structural repair, avionics and electrical modifications/upgrades/installations, manufacturing, aircraft refurbishment and completions, scheduled inspections, paint, product engineering and supplemental type certificate development and parts/special operations equipment sales.
