ParAid Medical has just launched a stretcher and patient transfer trolley for transporting patients over rough terrain. It provides a safer, quicker and easier alternative to the traditional method of carrying patients over grass, gravel and uneven ground, eliminating the risk of back injury to patient handling crews and saving valuable time in emergencies.
The Rough Terrain Trolley is extremely robust, constructed from stainless steel with wide pneumatic-tyred castors and a patient capacity of 200kg. It is designed for all-weather dependable outdoor use 365 days a year.
The Rough Terrain Trolley was originally made as a bespoke solution for Sheffield Children's Hospital to transport air ambulance patients to the hospital from their helicopter landing pad that is located in a field opposite. As it was designed in consultation with patient handling professionals it is therefore extremely easy to use. Practical features have been incorporated like a telescopic IV pump and support pole; a fold out D/E size oxygen cylinder holder; an equipment shelf that folds away when not in use and storage space for accessories and vital documents.
It also has foot and hand brakes and castor direction locks, and a flat, rubber covered lying area measuring 2000mm by 600mm with three restraining belts to secure the patient on a stretcher or spine board.
