TrueNorth Avionics revealed today that it plans to offer a personalized entertainment application on its Optelity Pro cabin communications platform. The Optelity Experience (OE) features the innovative UGO inflight services platform developed by Paris-based Display Interactive. The OE app is being demonstrated in TrueNorth's booth at the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA BACE) this week.
“We feel that the UGO platform offers the best in class entertainment option for business jet passengers,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth ceo. “TrueNorth and Display Interactive share the same philosophy regarding the customer experience of business jet passengers. Optelity Experience will go beyond movies and magazines to include curated content and what we refer to as exclusive experiences. This app is about the passenger experience and designed to provide a bespoke entertainment solution.”
Optelity Experience, powered by the UGO service platform, has specifically been tailored for business jets. It is a unique cabin offering that will allow people to view a variety of entertainment options on their tablets without using satellite bandwidth because the content is delivered at the gate using the Optelity system's LTE network. Purchasers of the Optelity Pro Cabin Gateway can also purchase OE, which will offer movies, short videos, corporate content, moving maps and magazines. Exclusive content, not available on the Internet will be important differentiators for the OE app. Pivotal features that will distinguish OE from standard inflight entertainment options include giving users the ability to customize the content to meet their own personal and business needs and a deluxe concierge service. This allows passengers to enjoy exclusive lifestyle experiences. For example, on arrival in London or Paris, passengers can use the application to set-up a special event, such as a personal shopping tour, or a tennis lesson with a pro. Experiences vary by destination and they may only be offered once in a lifetime.
“UGO was designed as an innovative solution for the inflight entertainment market, based on our airline experience. It is all about customer engagement, and service differentiation, with technical sophistication that belies how easy it is to use. Transforming the app to fit business jet users is a natural progression and we have definitely found a cultural match with TrueNorth” said Thierry Carmes, Display Interactive co-founder and strategy & development director.
“People want to customize and select their entertainment options and we've amped-up the experience by adding the team room environment and special event options. We work with very talented partners to offer the unique content available to business aviation, the result is an exceptional, upscale passenger experience.”
