TrueNorth Avionics introduced today its Optelity Care program at the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA BACE). The program gives aircraft owners and operators the highest level of support and peace of mind, while ensuring their airborne connectivity systems keep pace with the latest mobile technologies.
“With Optelity Care, we've made airborne connectivity more predictable and have streamlined upgrades to tackle evolving technology,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth ceo. “Optelity Care represents a new philosophy on managing and maintaining onboard connectivity systems because it is a membership with exclusive privileges and services specifically for Optelity products. What we have heard from our customers is that they are frustrated by how quickly their investment in cabin connectivity becomes obsolete by the rapidly changing landscape of mobile devices. We listened, and the Optelity Care program provides a way for business jet operators to maintain that investment long into the future.”
More than a warranty, Optelity Care members will receive all future software and hardware upgrades, and exclusive advantages, such as input into and early notification of features and updates, plus AOG service and no questions asked advance exchanges for all TrueNorth equipment installed on the aircraft. In addition, membership offers an exclusive hotline, email service and support resources.
Optelity Care is offered with the Optelity Pro Cabin Gateway, and will be available through a select group of TrueNorth's dealer partners. For a limited time, Optelity Pro purchasers who opt to purchase Optelity Care will receive two years of membership for the price of one.
The Optelity Cabin Gateway is offered as four configurable packages. The top of the line, Optelity Pro provides all that competitive systems offer, and more, at a cost-effective price. Optelity Wi-Fi, the product line's base model price starts at $24,995 MSRP. All versions of the Optelity Cabin Gateway component can be customized to fit the specific requirements, but Optelity Flex is unique. This version allows operators to pick and pay for the specific configuration they need. The entire family of products is app-based. Since the software in the Cabin Gateway defines the system's functionality, upgrades are streamlined because software updates are easier to implement than physical equipment replacements. The effect of this innovative thinking is that, not only can the system be upgraded to add features, as the business jet requires, the Cabin Gateway is built to accommodate new devices and applications as they emerge over time.
TrueNorth Optelity Cabin Gateway has a small footprint and conforms to the ARINC 600 2MCU form factor. Weighing-in at approximately 7.3 lb (3.3 kg), the component is lightweight and highly integrated. It offers Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and two (2) channels of Iridium voice. The Cabin Gateway has an integrated PBX and an advanced IP-based router. Along with Voice over IP (VoIP) support, it is compatible with smartphones, laptops, tablets and phablets, and integrates with TrueNorth Stylus Wi-Fi, corded ethernet and classic ethernet handsets.
