Germany-based general aviation and air ambulance specialist operator FAI rent-a-jet Aktiengesellschaft (dba Flight Ambulance Intlernational) has been named as one of four finalists in the 2015 International Travel & Health Insurance Journal's (ITIJ) industry awards - Air Ambulance Company of the Year category. This marks the fourth nomination since 2004 for FAI who won the award in 2012. The winner will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony which takes place on November 5th at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall to coincide with the International Travel & Health Insurance Conference (ITIC Global).
Commenting on the nomination, FAI founder and chairman, Siegfried Axtmann said: “Having already won the award in 2012, it is very gratifying be amongst the four finalists again this year. I shall, of course, be delighted if we win, but making the short list is a huge boost to all our team and highlights the tremendous effort that everyone puts in every day.”
FAI is the world's largest fixed wing air ambulance operator in terms of revenue, having logged more than 200,000 hours flying air ambulance missions. The fleet comprises dedicated, fully ICU equipped air ambulance jets, ranging from the Learjet 35/55/60 to the Bombardier Challenger 604 and the ultra-long range Global Express. It currently averages two intercontinental medical evacuations per day for its global client base. The company also specialises in air support in hostile areas for the world´s largest NGO.
