INAER France has been awarded a two year deal to provide life-saving helicopter emergency medical services for the Languedoc Roussillion Région in the south of France following a competitive tender.
Under the contract, worth around €20 million, INAER will operate four helicopters for the Hospital of Montpellier, with the potential to extend the agreement for a further five years.
INAER will use three AW109 and one B429. The three AW109 helicopters are positioned year-round at Perpignan, Nîmes and Montpellier hospitals. The fourth one is shared between Carcassonne Hospital (eight months) and Narbone Hospital (four months for holiday summer needs). All aircraft are equipped with the latest technology: a latest-generation respirator, defibrillator, blood pressure monitor and heart rate monitor in addition to infusion pumps allowing paramedics to administer serum or prescribed medication to patients whilst in transit.
These air ambulances play a critical role in saving lives in the region, enabling patients in rural and remote areas to be treated at the site of the emergency.
INAER France has more than 25 years providing emergency medical services services and operates a fleet of thirty helicopters dedicated to medical transportation.
