ER24 Emergency Medical Services of South Africa and Skyservice Air Ambulance of Canada announced on 9th July that they had signed a partnership agreement. Sam Cimone, president of Skyservice Air Ambulance, and Andrew Lee, management associate of ER24 Global, signed the agreement at the recent ITIC Asia Pacific conference in Hong Kong.

The organisations, which both offer fixed-wing air ambulance services, said their partnership had grown over successful wing-to-wing transport missions they had performed together. Both parties will now be able to provide a seamless response for air ambulance transport over a long distance for their mutual clients worldwide, said the firms.

“Seamless wing-to-wing transfers can only take place when both parties are of same level of expertise. It minimises the downtime of an aircraft and decreases the patient transfer process”, said Andrew Lee.

The providers have established a meeting point in Gran Canaria, which will allow them to 'maximise their fleets' capabilities and offer transport to longer distances' with 'acute medical management of the patient from bedside to bedside'.

According to Andrew Lee, Skyservice also benefit as both parties meet at the predetermined point and this decreases duty time.

ER24 operates a Dassault Falcon 20F, two Cessna Citation Vs and a King Air 200 medically dedicated and equipped for dual patient transport. Skyservice Air Ambulance's fleet comprises medically dedicated Learjet 45XRs, all equipped for dual patient transport.
