Mapaero, the aerospace industry's high technology paint manufacturer pursues development

Mapaero, a pioneer in water based paints for the aerospace industry is pursuing its development and extending its cabin interiors service offering.

Operating in the cabin interiors coating industry for the past 20 years, Mapaero develops and obtains OEM certifications on a range of water-based paints, where 90% of solvents present in traditional aircraft coatings are successfully replaced, meeting very precise characteristics of adhesion, chemical resistance and durability.

These “haute couture” coatings have set the trend within the market and today cover a wide range of requirements from surface protection to decoration including high end finishes such as pearlescent, gold, satin and even coatings with a built in texture.

The Mapaero DNA is all about the water color! R&D teams are moving ever further towards greener chemistries with bio sourced raw materials that ensure ever increasingly performing products.

Jean-François Brachotte, founder of Mapaero said, “to meet the needs of our customers we have developed products that reduce production cycles and as production rates are increasing we have designed a product that dries quickly and is easily applied”.

Eric Rumeau, managing director of Mapaero added, “this is a competitive product today available for aircraft and component manufacturers, and rapidly for corporate, vip and aircraft maintenance operators. With the MRO market in mind, we have designed specialised packaging which offer a simple solution for quick touch-ups called 'TUK – Touch Up Kits'. Weight of aircraft is also a major constraint in our industry. Taking this on board and having considered the requests from the market for weight reduction we have developed a product that offers direct texture 'DITEX' effect in a single application of paint compared to two from all traditional paint methods on the market”.

Mapaero's strategy is to develop its certified aircraft and component manufacturers product range in order to provide its coatings to all airlines, corporate and vip operators as well as maintenance centers that service a large array of aircraft types. This strategy will enable greater customer proximity through development and increased production capabilities internationally.

Jean-François Brachottte concluded, “soon we will be opening a production site in the United States as well as distribution sites in Europe and Asia. We want to respond quickly and with unique quality worldwide.”
