GCS marks tenth anniversary at EBACE 2015 with paper plane competition

Great Circle Services, GCS, the Switzerland-based aviation safety consulting company will be marking its tenth anniversary in business when it exhibits on the AfBAA Pavilion (A065) at this year’s EBACE. To celebrate the occasion Michael Grüninger the company’s managing director will be inviting visiting delegates to take part in a suitably aviation focused competition. Aviation experts will be encouraged to test their skills in landing a paper aeroplane on Runway 10 on the GCS booth. Budding aeronautical paper engineers will be asked to design and make their own paper plane before attempting to land it on the designated runway strip. Entrants will video the attempt on their smartphone before uploading to the GCS website to enter the draw. It is worth the effort as the prize is a weekend for two in lovely Luzern, Switzerland, courtesy of GCS. To add an aviation theme to the trip the winner will enjoy a sightseeing flight in a Mooney 201 over the Swiss Alps with Michael. The company, which launched in 2005, is also relocating its office at the beginning of June. The new address at Rigiblick 19, CH-6024 Hildisrieden/Luzern will see GCS move into a purpose built edifice, powered by solar panels. The location is perfectly centred between Zurich, Bern and Basel airports, which will enable the team to better serve its key customers at these locations. Grüninger says, “Its an important year for us with our tenth birthday and office move. We are really looking forward to welcoming existing customers and new contacts to the booth and hope they will enjoy our competition; it’s a great prize after all. We anticipate that our regular clients will enjoy working with this type of paperwork!” As a launch member of AfBAA GCS continues to support African business aviation companies, in addition to its international client base, in better understanding the methods of ensuring risk-aware, safe and compliant organisations. The coaching it offers is designed to help aviation professionals master the highly complex business environment and encourages best business practice. It recently supported fellow AfBAA member Bestfly in gaining ISBAO Stage 1 and will be exploring with visitors to the booth ways of adopting and adapting the necessary standards needed to ensure safe operations.
