Today at this year's European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, EBACE 2015, the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) released data from the first ever in-depth survey of the African business aviation sector undertaken. The State of Business Aviation in Africa report presents data about the current and future landscape of the continent's business aviation industry, outlines potential opportunities the continent offers, and provides readers with an unbiased, detailed and intricate overview of the complexity of the sector on the vast continent.

It also provides a valuable database of business aviation operators, aircraft, and suppliers in addition to information about legal and administrative frameworks.

In its role of advocating for the sustainable development of pan-African business aviation, AfBAA commissioned JETNET LLC in September 2014 to undertake the extensive research with two main aims. To provide a succinct, but comprehensive collection of data that would enable AfBAA members to make informed, future, strategic decisions. In addition to enabling governments, civil aviation authorities, business leaders, and regulatory bodies to better understand the benefits that business aviation can bring to the growth of a sustainable economy.

The full version is currently only available in full to AfBAA members. However at EBACE 2015 Tarek Ragheb, founding chairman of the association presented a condensed version of the market intelligence to an audience consisting of media, AfBAA members, and aviation stakeholders with a genuine interest in analyzing the African landscape. The complete results will be used to form the basis of the “2020 Road Map for AfBAA”, which is the strategy that will underpin AfBAA activities moving forward.

We are delighted to have published Africa's first business aviation study, and hope our members find it invaluable when planning future activity for their business,” commented Ragheb about the information.
