As MedAire, an International SOS company, celebrates its 30th anniversary it will also launch its latest offering for the business and general aviation market. Rolling out worldwide in June, MedAire's 2015 edition of its signature Management of In-flight Illness & Injury course (MIII) combines initial and recurrent training to help meet the needs of a busy flight crew.
The course curriculum has been restructured based on the latest aviation regulatory and medical guidelines, customer and instructor feedback, as well as new products and services available to support travel safety. A highly anticipated feature offers students a modified learning methodology with increased focus on scenario based training including six new situational videos, and more collaboration with fellow crewmembers to share personal experience. In addition, several important modules and integration of the MedAire Trip Ready app, best practices on fatigue management and fitness for duty have been added.
“Building on three decades of experience and over 200,000 in-flight medical emergencies MedAire understands the unique needs and challenges impacting the aviation industry,” said Bill Dolny, ceo of MedAire. “We remain committed to continually improving the quality of our training and delivering a superior education product.”
More than 7,500 aviation professionals use MedAire annually for their training needs. The refreshed Management of In-flight Illness & Injury course is the latest example of how MedAire responds to customer needs with solutions tailored to the unpredictable schedules of those in business and general aviation.
“It is important to keep the content fresh, relevant, and interesting.” explains vice president of aviation education products Richard Gomez, “but more importantly, to our clients, is training delivered by experienced medical instructors, which has differentiated MedAire's training since 1985.”
