CAE is adding a second Bombardier CRJ full-flight simulator (FFS) to its Madrid training centre, doubling its CRJ platform capacity in the region. The simulator will be a CRJ200 Level D that will support the currently installed CRJ200/900 Level D FFS. It is scheduled to enter into service in early 2009.
"The demand for CRJ training in Europe and Africa is strong and we are happy to be able to provide our customers with a better service offering closer to home," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Innovation and Civil Training and Services. "We are proud that our Madrid training centre now gives our customers access to 11 full-flight simulators and a full complement of services in one strategic location adjacent to the Madrid Barajas Airport."
More than 8,000 pilots from 40 airlines train annually at the Madrid centre, including those of Air Nostrum, Jetlite, and Pluna. The centre is a joint venture between CAE and Iberia Airlines.
The CRJ full-flight simulator is part of a 10% projected increase in RSEUs (Revenue Simulator Equivalent Units) expected by the end of fiscal 2009, previously announced by CAE.
