Brazil-based trip planning experts from Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. will be hosting daily seminars at EBACE2015 (in Universal Exhibit #W073) to help operators proactively plan their trips to high-traffic areas, during big multi-national events like the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. The seminars are open to all EBACE attendees, and will be available all three days of the show, starting at 11 a.m.

According to Universal Aviation Brazil operations manager, Marcia Taue, operators should begin planning now, even though the Games do not begin until August 2016. This jump on planning is most important due to the high demand for slots, parking and hotels.

“More than 1,000 business aircraft are expected to operate to Rio for the Games, putting a large strain on the local infrastructure and service providers, so we recommend operators begin developing their strategy now,” explained Taue. “Last year's World Cup provided a good preview of some of the challenges operators will be facing. At our seminar at EBACE, we will share the lessons learned from the World Cup to help operators anticipate the regulatory restrictions, develop contingencies if their plans change, and ultimately exceed their passengers expectations.”

One of the top considerations operators must consider when preparing for the 2016 Summer Games is the surge of business aviation traffic for the opening and closing ceremonies.

“To avoid the probability of delays and traffic issues immediately following the closing ceremonies, operators should consider delaying their departure by one day,” said Taue. “In the sessions, we'll discuss beneficial pre-planning strategies, and answer some frequently asked questions.”

Some of these questions include:

- What do I do if our schedule changes unexpectedly?

- What is the best hotel based on the events we will attend?

- Should we fuel on arrival?

- Is secure transport recommended?

- Do I need a towbar?
