Universal Aviation adds dedicated resources in Africa

Universal Aviation, the ground support division for Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. (Exhibit #W073), has announced for EBACE2015 that it has added new dedicated resources in Morocco and Ethiopia and will now provide supervisory ground handling throughout both countries.

“We recognize the tremendous potential for business aviation in Africa, as well as the current operational challenges,” said Judith Milne, regional vice president, Europe, Middle East, & Africa, Universal. “We've been asked by many operators to expand our capabilities in strategic, but potentially difficult operating environments, such as Morocco and Ethiopia. Our plan is to meet that need by embedding locally-based supervisory ground handling agents at these strategic locations.”

Supervisory services will be available at the following Moroccan airports: Marrakech, Rabat, Casablanca, and on request Fes, Agadir and Tangiers. In Ethiopia, supervisory services will be available at Addis Ababa (HAAB).

“Morocco is a gateway to northern Africa for many business aviation operators and we've seen an increase in traffic to the country in recent years,” said Milne. “As the headquarters for the African Union, Addis Ababa is strategically important. We expect more and more business aviation traffic to operate to the region as a result of the African Union's growing influence.”

Services offered in Morocco and Ethiopia include:

• Personalized attention and on-site coordination of all operational needs exceeding passenger expectations

• Anticipating any regulatory challenges and providing quality control of all third-party services – well in advance of operators' scheduled arrival/departure time – to help ensure a seamless experience on the ground

• Managing any special or last-minute requests from crew or passengers and

• leveraging Universal's global resources as needed

“Our senior Universal Aviation representatives in Morocco and Ethiopia will provide our clients with a reliable expert on the ground to handle on-site coordination and last-minute requests with the full backing of all of Universal's global resources,” said Milne. “We've employed a similar model with great success at other challenging or congested locations such as the south of France and Luton.”
