YU Lounge is celebrating the official grand opening ceremony of its new state-of-the-art hangar facility in Mauritius.
The event is taking place in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism of Mauritius at the YU Lounge premises, located at the SSR International Airport. This official opening ceremony marks the end of a two-year-long project at a cost of $3 million, measuring 1800 square feet with the ability to accommodate four Falcon 900 or two Global express jets. "Private jet arrivals in Mauritius have witnessed constant growth with around 200 to 300 jets arriving annually. The hangar is designed to support this fast growing aviation industry and to efficiently meet the maintenance and safety requirements of the business jet owners," said Mr Nirvan Veerasamy co-founder and managing director of the Veling Group. " We have raised the bar on innovation and customer service, which places Mauritius ahead of the other airports available in the region" YU Lounge is a private terminal owned and operated by the Veling Hospitality Group, which was founded in 2002 by Uday Nayak and Nirvan Veerasamy. In operation since December 2008 and May 2014, the YU Lounge Mauritius and the YU Lounge St Kitts are state of the art private terminals located away from public terminals and encompassing a luxury lounge designed for discerning passengers travelling on commercial airliners and private jets. It is a one of a kind concept and experience in airline travel combining the finest in hospitality and travel services all the way to the footstep of an aircraft.
