April 10, 2015
Inspired by Corporate Angel Network (CAN), Angel Jet Network (AJN) is the first charitable organization in the Asia Pacific region whose mission is to leverage corporate aviation to transport underprivileged patients to medical treatment centers across Asia Pacific.
Similar to the CAN model, AJN will partner with corporate aviation providers who are willing to donate empty legs, empty seats or flight hours to transport patients in rural or remote locations to medical centers. AJN will assist patients with a wide-range of medical conditions including cancer, cardiac and pulmonary disease, congenital deformities and other disorders.
AJN's aviation partners include business jet owners, operators and airlines that wish to share their assets to assist less fortunate members of society. Air partners can participate by donating empty legs, empty seats on scheduled flights or flight hours that can be used to transport patients or sold at market rates with proceeds donated to AJN.
The founding board of directors, William Schultz and Jane F. McBride are two pioneers in the business aviation industry, and influential figures in Asia Pacific market. Schultz is senior vice president of business development in Textron Aviation China. As leader of business development in China, Bill Schultz is responsible for bringing Textron Aviation solutions to the growing business aviation market in the region. Before that, he was ceo of CitationAir by Cessna.
McBride has more than 25 years experience in the aviation and hospitality industries. In 1985, she launched the first Part 121 charter brokerage service in the U.S, Flight Time Corporation. She is a well-recognized philanthropist. In 2002, she founded Friends of Thai Daughters, a 501©3 non-profit organization to protect Asian children from human trafficking. In 2011, she founded AVICUS Group, an aviation charter brokerage and advisory service, with offices in Boston, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
From its formation date, AJN has received wide support from aviation, medical, non-profit organizations, and many other related corporations' support, including NBAA, Altitudes magazine, Lulu Wang & Partners, Beijing Raybay Medical Group, and Roberto & Co.
The co-founder of Corporate Angel Network, Priscilla (Pat) Blum, has accepted the role of honorary chairman of the advisory board of Angel Jet Network. Pat co-founded and served as the president of CAN until 1998. Thanks to Pat Blum, the lives of more than 47,000 cancer patients have been dramatically changed. Many lives have been saved and others prolonged because it was Pat's idea to fly cancer patients to specialized treatment in the empty seats of corporate jets. In 2015, Pat was inducted into Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame.
AJN is exhibiting at ABACE 2015, booth P822.
