Communication Systems

Press Release

Issued by Satcom Direct.

February 12, 2015

Satcom Direct strengthens support across globe with new offices in Australia, Canada and the U.S.

At Satcom Direct's new offices, technical, on-site staff members provide training, support and satcom system consultation for pilots, flight operations staff and maintenance crews while development teams work to bring new products to market.

“This expansion supports our mission to provide total solutions to our customers. We are where they are,” said David Greenhill, Satcom Direct president. “Each new location was strategically selected to serve our expanding customer base.”

Satcom Direct will celebrate the opening of its new Melbourne, Australia, office at AVALON: Australia's International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition. Melbourne is a hub of business aviation operations in Australia. Satcom Direct has joined the Australian Business Aviation Association.

Ottawa, sometimes referred to as the Silicon Valley of the north, has a long history in satellite communications technology. More than 85 percent of the world's flying satcom satellite data units (SDUs) were developed there. Accordingly, Satcom Direct's new Ottawa office is focused on the research and development of new products in addition to providing technical support services to customers located in or visiting the region.

Located in the Denver suburb of Englewood, Satcom Direct's newest U.S. operation is strategically located near Centennial Airport (KAPA) which ranks among the 30 busiest airports in the U.S. in terms of landings and takeoffs, and is the third busiest general aviation airport in the U.S. The office is home to Satcom Direct's product management team and the future home of a Rocky Mountain area Training Lab.
