Press Release
Issued by Albinati Aeronautics.
December 18, 2014
Albinati Aeronautics is proud to announce that it has obtained authorization from the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) to conduct Category II (CAT II) landings with its Bombardier Global fleet (Global 5000/XRS/Express/6000).
This means that the company's pilots can now accept a decision height down to 100ft and a runway visual range down to 300m, allowing for greater landing possibility in adverse weather conditions.
Approval for CAT II operations depends on the following elements in order to maintain the required level of safety:
- certified aircraft and flight crew - operator's approval - airport with required ground equipment
All of these elements must comply with the regulations established by the aviation authorities, for which all Albinati Aeronautics pilots are qualified and will be examined every six months.
Albinati Aeronautics has obtained approval as an operator; therefore, provided that the chosen airport is CAT II operations approved, it can guarantee in-line services during the whole year, limiting as much as possible diversions of its flights, thus ensuring considerable time saving.
Thanks to this advantage, Albinati Aeronautics can now fly its customers to their desired destination even in reduced visibility conditions and in full safety.
