Sabena technics, in collaboration with Honeywell, has launched the development and certification for the installation of Honeywell's Ka-band JetWave satcom hardware on a wide-body aircraft owned by an undisclosed vip customer.

Honeywell's JetWave exclusively supports Inmarsat's forthcoming Jet ConneX (JX) connectivity service which, when it goes live early in the second half of 2015, will provide the aircraft with fast, consistent in-flight Wi-Fi virtually anywhere in the world.

Counting on its long-time experience in satellite communication and IFE systems' integration, Sabena technics takes one step forward in its quest for technological excellence by providing its customer with up to the maximum internet data bandwidth currently available for a true home and office-like connectivity experience in the sky. Thanks to Honeywell's JetWave satcom solution installed by Sabena technics, passengers will be able to video-conference, send and receive large files as well as access streaming content during their flight using Inmarsat's JX service.

A broad range of customized service packages will be available to Sabena technics' current and future customers, applicable to any of their vip aircraft type and enabling them to select the internet communication speed that is right for their operations.
