Jet Aviation Basel recently received EASA certification for a cabin interior installation completed on a Boeing Business Jet 737-700 three months ahead of schedule. The BBJ1 exterior is currently receiving high-precision custom paintwork at the company's in-house paint shop.
Designed by the Jet Aviation Basel Design Studio and completed and certified at its completions center, the Boeing BBJ1 completions project is currently 90 days ahead of schedule as a result of several technological innovations and procedural modifications developed at the completions center. With its commitment to continuous improvement, the company implemented many time-saving processes and leveraged technology developments from Jet Aviation's extensive investment in the Boeing 787 platform. To ensure the mission- critical, light-weight cabin interior was completed successfully, the company created a technique in optimizing sound insulation, providing the added benefit of a very quiet cabin.
“Out-performing the schedule by such a large margin is a real feat on its own account. To manage this timeline while further developing a completely new soundproofing concept that maintains vip-level acoustics, however, along with a 30% loss in weight, truly makes this accomplishment all the more remarkable,” said Adam White, senior director of completions engineering at Jet Aviation Basel. “It is our comprehensive in-house capabilities and teamwork that makes it possible for us to outfit green aircraft with innovative design, state-of-the-art technology and uncompromising luxury inside a timeline that is well below customer expectations.
The beautifully finished vip interior accommodates 13 passengers and features a crew area, modern galley, spacious open-plan dining area and lounge, guest area, master bedroom and a customized master bathroom. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, satellite communications, iPod connectivity and AC outlets for charging devices.
“We leveraged everything we had to complete this light-weight vip cabin interor and are delighted with the optimized sound and completions cycle time,” said Neil Boyle, vice president and general manager of the Jet Aviation Basel completions center. “We are continuously investing in new technologies and the training of our employees, and this early completion clearly demonstrates our commitment to delivering the most benefit to our clients.”
