Leading industry figures to speak at CEPA Expo

Central European Private Aviation has confirmed that a number of leading Industry figures will make key note speeches at the fifth CEPA Expo, which will be held in Prague on 19 – 20 November this year.

Peter Bunce, president and ceo of General Aviation Manufacturers Association, Doug Carr, vice president, regulatory & international affairs at National Business Aviation Association, Kurt H. Edwards, director general, International Business Aviation Council and Fabio Gamba, chief executive officer, European Business Aviation Association will each take to the stage during the two day event being held for the first time in the auspicious surrounding of Prague Castle.

Commenting on the attendance of these key figures, CEPA chairman, Roger Whyte said “I am particularly delighted that, this year, delegates of CEPA Expo will get to hear from the organisations that represent and develop business aviation and are instrumental in formulating policy and regulation across the globe. The importance of the central and eastern European region to the industry as a whole has been recognised. GAMA, NBAA, IBAC and EBAA all have an important role to play in supporting continuing growth here.” Mr Whyte added, “These distinguished gentleman have vast experience of involvement at every level and in every aspect of business aviation Their contribution to the event will be enormous”.

Pete Bunce became president and ceo of GAMA in 2005. GAMA is headquatered in Washinton DC with offices in Brussels Belgium. Mr Bunce and the GAMA staff travel worldwide engaging regulators, policy makers and elected officials to promote and advance the interests of general aviation.

Douglas Carr is NBAA's vice president of safety, security, operations & regulation. In this position, he is responsible for leading the association's efforts on business aviation safety and security and has oversight of NBAA's regulatory activity involving business aviation aircraft equipment mandates, operations and security.

Fabio Gamba was appointed to the position of EBAA ceo in September 2011. He runs the EBAA business from the association's Brussels headquarters, and has taken on the significant role of actively liaising with EBAA members and further enhancing the association's relationship with Europe's chief decision making bodies.

Kurt Edwards is director general of IBAC located in the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in Montreal Canada. IBAC liaises with ICAO on all regulatory and policy matters pertaining to business aviation. It is also responsible for the development and implementation of the International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). Mr Edwards has served in a variety of capacities with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Just before joining IBAC in September 2012, he was senior advisor to the assistant administrator for policy, international aviation, and environment and served as deputy director, international affairs.
