Air Service Basel handles record number of aircraft during Art Basel 2014

Conveniently located just a few minutes from the exhibition halls in the heart of Basel, Air Service Basel's FBO experienced an exceptionally busy period during this year's Art Basel exhibition, which took place from 16th-22nd June 2014. As the Art Basel once again confirmed its position as one of the most important annual art events and central meeting point for the international art world, Air Service Basel handled a record number of up to 300 private and business aircraft movements during the event.

“We were very pleased to welcome almost 700 guests in our FBO to attend the Art Basel fair. Our FBO team, in co-operation with various partners here at the EuroAirport Basel, rose to the occasion and provided an outstanding level of handling services and flexibility to all our arriving and departing guests”, says Air Service Basel's ceo Claudio Lasagni.

Art Basel 2014 presented 285 galleries from 34 countries, exhibiting the work of over 4,000 artists. The show attracted a record attendance of 92,000 over the six show days – 6,000 more than last year. Alongside major private collectors from Europe, North and South America, and Asia, representatives and groups from over 70 museums from across the world attended the show.
