ScanTech lands Scandinavian Pratt & Whitney Canada appointment

Again this year the world leading producers of aircraft, engines, etc. rallied to EBACE at PalExpo, Geneva International Airport to present the state of the art within corporate aviation and discuss business opportunities.

One of the best pieces of news from EBACE seen from a Scandinavian point of view was when the Danish company ScanTech (Scandinavian Aircraft Technologies A/S) was appointed as a Pratt & Whitney Canada premium service provider.

The future assignments for P&WC comprise of repair and maintenance of engines for turboprops and jets. These assignments shall be carried out at the ScanTech facilities in Sindal as well as on-site jobs at the customers'. The appointment is expected to raise the ScanTech turnover by more than 1 mill. DKK each year.

Since 1928 Pratt & Whitney Canada has been one of the leading producers of engines for aircraft and helicopters in the world. Today the company produces more than 190 engine models and services more than 50,000 engines spread through more than 200 countries. One of these is the legendary PT6 engine, which P&WC has produced and delivered to customers for more than 50 years, and which ScanTech has specialized in maintaining.

ScanTech is an EASA part 145 authorized aircraft maintenance facility with more than 37 years of MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) experience. Ninety percent of the work at ScanTech is carried out on either Beechjets or Beechcraft King Airs. Both aircraft are equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. The activities at ScanTech also include: CAMO (Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation), pre- buy inspections, aircraft sales and sale of spare parts.
