Avicus Group proudly announces the appointment of Jennifer Zhu Scott as its external strategic advisor and Carmen Tao, who will join the Asia Pacific business operation as business director based in Shanghai.
Based in Hong Kong, as Avicus' external strategic advisor, Jennifer will focus on the firm's entry strategies to the region. Jennifer is the founder and managing partner of Establish Asia, her cross-sector VC/PE fund raising and entry strategy advisory firm.
Previously, Jennifer co-founded one of the first education consulting firms in China and exited in her mid 20s. She then moved to the UK to join Daily Mail & General Trust as strategic advisor to its education subsidiary of the China market, which in 2002 relocated her to HK as the country head of the subsidiary. In 2006 Jennifer joined Thomson Reuters as head of sales for leveraged finance and then head of business development & strategy in Asia Pacific. Prior to her current venture, she was the managing director, APAC, for BrightWire, a New York-based investment research firm.

Jennifer studied Applied Mathematics at Sichuan University, and holds an MBA in Finance (with Distinction in research) from Manchester Business School. The World Economic Forum honored Jennifer as one of the 199 Young Global Leaders in 2013. She completed the Public Policy and Foundation of Leadership in 21st Century course at Jackson Institute of Yale University in 2013. In 2014 she was sent to Kennedy School of Harvard University for the Public Policy and Leadership program, sponsored by Bill George and David Rubenstein.
Carmen Tao, the new business director, has more than 10 years in sales and marketing including significant work for a number of MNCs. Prior to joining Avicus, Carmen did a number of project-based initiatives including global event manager for The Global Executive Network and business development and event manager for Power Capital Limited.
Most recently, Carmen served as corporate sales manager for Naked Retreats, a luxury resort located in Moganshan, China. She also served as account manager for ClarkMorgan Corporate Training Company.

Carmen studied finance and economics in Anhui University and acquired MBA in University of Science and Technology of China.
