Heli Air Scotland opens its new purpose built heli centre

Heli Air is pleased to announce that Heli Air Scotland will officially open its new purpose built heli centre with a launch party reception on June 6th 2014 at the new eastern hangar premises at Cumbernauld Airport.

At the launch event, guests will be given a tour of the premises and the opportunity to see up to ten visiting helicopters including the UK's first Robinson R22 with EFIS – glass panel avionics, as well as the new G registered R66 turbine.

Founded nearly 30 years ago, Heli Air is unique in being able to offer helicopter support throughout the UK with 9 strategic locations, Cumbernauld being the first north of the border.

Heli Air Scotland's heli centre services will include pilot flight training, maintenance, helicopter sales, hangarage, sightseeing flights and vip charter - operations are accredited with the internationally acclaimed IS-BAO (H) safety standard.

This new purpose built facility is Scotland's first major heli centre in nearly 25 years and will provide a modern, exclusive and friendly environment for all customers across the operations, aiming to reflect the company's values.

Facilities include a private lounge, private secure parking, classrooms, spacious hangarage, fuelling, refreshments and access to the airport restaurant.

Charles McCann, managing director of Heli Air Scotland, commented: “Recent events have given helicopters a negative image in Scotland. We at Heli Air want to change the public image and show people that in context helicopter incidents are very rare - helicopters are fun, enjoyable and safe.”
