August 7, 2008
Dart Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated partner DART Aerospace Ltd., has received Transport Canada approval of their NEW Aft Facing Seats (2x2) for Bell 205/212/412 aircraft. FAA and EASA approvals will be submitted.
DART's Aft Facing 4 Place Utility Seats are direct replacements for OEM utility seats. However, in contrast to the OEM system, the DART seats are provided as 2 separate 2 place benches. Each 2 place seat is approved to be installed together or individually in either the RH or the LH position. Additionally, either 2 place bench may be positioned in the centre of the aircraft. This variety in seating configurations creates the flexibility to transport both cargo and passengers where and how as needed.
DART's Aft Facing Seats come complete with head rests and a grey powder coated aluminum frame. The seat backs and bottoms are composed of lightweight aerospace grade plastic and are individually replaceable.
Additional benefits of this product:
• Quick Install (snaps into existing provisions)
• Easy to replace – each 2 place seat back/bottom is individually replaceable and no need to disassemble
• Only need one spare on the shelf – LH & RH spares are interchangeable (if undrilled)
• Easy to clean – no need to send away for fire retardant application
• Compatible with OEM and DART shoulder harnesses
• Shipped pre-assembled
• Lighter weight than OEM
"DART listens to the market. The market told us that these seats were in short supply, that they're cumbersome to remove and re-install, that the fabric is hard to replace and time consuming to retreat with fire retardant. We've spoken to these needs plus added the flexibility of installing only two seats at a time." Quote Bill Beckett, General Manager, DART Aerospace.
